The Book Store

The local Bookstore
has only 2 parking spots.
One for the owner
and one for the customer.
I drive up
and go inside.
I love this bookstore
its small but they
have the most interesting
books.
I walk into the store
its an old house
that has been converted
into a store.
Each room has its own
section.
The owner knows me.
Gee Gee is her name.
Are you back again
she says with a smile.
Yes , I reply.
I am back.
I look around
and pick out 2 books.
One about a dog
the other about
a woman who grew
up and this area
and writes short stories.
The smell.
the creaking of the floor.
Lovely and calm.
Gee Gee comes
around the corner.

Yes , I am you always
have the best collections.

you, she smiled.
She walked into the
next room
and grabbed a book
off the shelf.
