Ice cream

Standing outside
the ice cream
stand I am eating
a chocolate cone.
Its good.
Its melting
so fast
I can not keep
up with it.
I look around
and there is
a lady with kids.
all eating ice
cream cones.
She has hers in
a dish.
And is eating
it so delicately.
I on the other
hand have ice
cream everywhere.
on my shirt.
on my face.
on my hands.
I look at one
of her children
and one of her
little girls
has it all over
her face and
hands as well.
The difference.
I am 42 .
She is about 7.
The little girl
started laughing
at me,
she said lady
you have ice cream
all over your face.
I said
so do you.
She laughed and
said.
I know.
And I do not care.
I smiled and said
I don't care either.
She started laughing.
I just smiled at her..
Its nice for
a moment.
A minute.
Just not to
care.
