your couch
in a spot.
My spot
for this moment.
Across from
me you sit
watching
TV and drinking
beer .
right next to me
another sits.
In her spot
for this moment.
We laugh
talk and enjoy
each others
company.
This couch
makes us timeless.
we can sit
here and be
ageless.
motionless.
Fearless.
loveless.
Because
nothing
moves on
this couch.
I get up to
go home and
leave the two of
you to enjoy.
I look at you
both 10 yrs
younger.
Lots of life.
Lots of love.
As I walk down
the dark driveway
I think to myself
where I was
at 30.
It was nice
to sit on that
couch and
be ageless.
but I love
my life in
motion at
this age
at this moment.
Its nice to have
That spot on
the couch,
but it is better
to get up and
live.
