Teacher

I have had
many teachers
in my life.
People who have
inspired me.
I thought about
you today.
I was giving examples
of the kind of things
my mentor did for me.
I had many teachers
in life.
But for some reason
you were the one.
The first person
who really taught
me about business.
Taught me my trade.
I am good at what
I do.
The reason I am
You inspired me and
pushed me.
As I was talking about
you I remember
you telling me
one day, In the stockroom.
I was crying.
I made a huge mistake
at work.
I tried to fix it and made it
worse.
You told me to sit
down.
I did, crying sitting on
a box.
All the mistakes you
make, make you smarter.
All the mistakes  make you
bolder.
All the mistakes , make
you...You.

teacher in my life
that made
me believe
in me. You gave
me my career and
chances and choices.
The most important
thing you gave me.
