I admit it, I miss you.

walking around
my house
this morning.
Drinking coffee.
cleaning up.
shuffling through
the house in
my slippers.
My dog
gently runs behind
me in every room.
Making sure he does
not miss a thing.
I am off today.
feels nice.
For about an
hour silent,
my dog follows
me and waits
patiently for some
attention.
I am busy working
and thinking
about my day
ahead.
I look down
at you and you
are looking at
me, smiling.
I sit down on the
floor and let
you crawl in
my lap.
You smell
so good,
like an old
friend.
you nuzzle
me and I give
in.
Kiss, Kiss, kiss.
You squeal and
bark.
OK, OK I say
out loud..
I have missed you.
You run around
barking and smiling.
Life is good.
You just have
to see it.
And
I do.
