Maybe I will take this exit

On the highway
as I drive
I think about
all the exits
on this road.
My first
apartment.
I met my first love.
I worked at this one.
Oh yeah , I have worked
at  6 of these.
The next exit,
my best friends job.
The next
a guy named pillow.
the next,
my job.
The next,
I pulled to the
side of the road
and cried
when my aunt
died.
The next,
I left
my husband.
The next,
I found
a new life.
The next,
my brother,
my rock.
My life has
been this highway,
these exits.
Maybe I should
take a new exit.
Or maybe
Just maybe
Its time
for me
to be brave...
and take
a new highway.
