I have my
earbuds
in and I am
listening
to my music.
Walking
along
the beach.
It is a cooler
day,
today.
It is a bit
windy
so the
beach is
a bit desolate.
I do not
mind,
The fresh
air, the
light
ocean
spray
from the waves
hits my face
like a light
puppy kiss.
An old
song
of mine
comes on
that I love
Love somebody
by Rick Springfield.
Cheesy,
but...
You better love
somebody,
boom, boom boom.
The base is loud.
I look around,
Nobody..
Well,
Here I go..
I start spinning,
kicking
and Air gutaring.
I feel like I am sixteen
kicking
the sand,
The waves,
I am on fire.
As I start to go
for the big ending,
I turn to see a
young boy,
with his dog.
I stop in my tracks.
Did he see me?
Crap!!
I take my earbuds out,
trying to pull myself
together.
The young man,
walks by and says,
dont worry lady,
My grandfather listens
to his music really
loud too.
My Mom says
its when people
did drugs with their
music.
Clearly, you
listen to the same
type of music.
Drugs? I think
so myself.
The young boy walks
away.
Hey,
I have you know
I was listening to Rick Springfield,
He was from the 80's not the
60's! !!
I say this with conviction.
Wanting him to know,
I am not that old.
The young boy
turns around,
and yells back,
If you are listineing
to him,
You should be doing
drugs!
I put my ear buds in
and listen to Rick
singing his heart out.
Stupid Child, I think..
Rick can rock,
and so I go
dancing in the
water,
Like it was
1987.
