I was seen on that dirt road

I remember 

Walking 

My dog. 

On that 

Dirt road. 

It was one of 

The few 

Times I was 

Happy. 

The sun warming 

My face and my 

Shoulders.

My pup 

Walked ahead 

Of 

Me 

Smiling her 

Doggie smile.

Kicking up dirt 

As she walked.

It was the first

Time in my life

I felt like

Someone 

Loved me

For just me.  

Not for what

I could give

Them financially.

Not for all the

Things I 

Could do for them. 

Not out

Of loneliness,

Or obligation.

We got to 

End of 

The dirt

Road and

I let her off

Her leash.

She took

Off and 

Ran around

Me..

I looked down

At her little

Dog eyes.

For a moment

I felt it.

True 

Pure

Love.

I felt so loved 

That day. 

The dirt swirled 

Around under

My feet.  

I was seen 

On that 

Dirt road.  

And it 

Felt so 

Beautiful.
