Living shells

As we 

Sat down 

On the beach

The view 

Was perfect. 

The weather 65 

Sunny

Perfect.  

This was our day. 

To enjoy the

Silence 

Enjoy our 

Day. 

I watched you 

As you walked 

Down 

The beach

Looking at the shells

That washed 

Up on shore.  

Living sea 

Creatures 

Still

Living

In their 

Shells 

Not ready 

To escape.  

You were 

Throwing

Them

Back

In the ocean 

To save 

Them.  

Starfish

Snails 

Anything 

That moved. 

This is your talent. 

Rescuing the 

Living. 

Making them

Have yet

Another

Chance at

Life. 

But on 

This day

On our

Day

We recognized

We saved

Each other.  

We were living

For the first

Time out

Of our shells.  

And

As

The sun 

Reflected

Off the 

Water

I realized

We were

Living...

The air was sweeter

The sun

Was 

Brighter

And we

We're living 

And it 

Felt 

Right.
