I wanted this,
for a long time.
I never said
it out loud.
Because it was
not with the
right person.
It was not my time.
I look at my
husband who
is such a selfless
man.
I see how he
got here,
it's you.
You make him this
way.
I never understood
it.
I never felt it.
But I do now,
Its overwhelming.
So much so
I have to leave
the room to
breathe,
cry
or just
let my heart fill
with love.
I don't expect
you to feel this
way about me.
I know it has to
be earned.
But sometimes
when you are not
looking,
I feel it.
I take a moment
to breathe it in.
Its the little moments
that you throw away
that I take.
You have no idea,
but they fill
me with so
much love,
and Now I know
why people
have children.
When you open
that door
just a little
to make me
feel this way,
I float.
It can be
you leaning
on my bed and
smiling so big
I can feel your
soul.
It could be you
getting up
and putting
air in my tires
to comfort
my fears.
It could be the
fact you see
My mother,
and see where I come
from and you respect
that place.
Its so small
You can barely see it.
I found my
soul mate
and in a different
life I would
have had
children with him.
But it is too late.
All I have
are these little moments
that you throw away
with no thought.
I pick them up
so grateful,
because I know
that you gave
them to me
without
knowing how much
I have needed
them to make me
complete.
