Puposky

The black
and white
photos
don't
show you.
They just
showed
a picture of your
past I never
knew.
I looked
through
the photos
of the place
the life
I never knew
existed.
Ten years
of your
life,
I just am learning
about.
I can see
you.
Your youth
the beginning
of your life
changing.
I can
see you
putting
the crisp
sheets on
the bed.
Tucking
them the
way you did
when
I was a young
girl.
I can see you standing
up
looking
out the window
at the lake.
The sunshine
hitting your face.
I can see you
move your bangs
and curl them
with your
fingers,
Just like I
do right now.
If I close
my eyes
I can
hear your
gentle hum
and I am
reminded
how strong
you were
and where I
got it
from.
The white crisp
sheets are guided
by your beautiful
hands.
I smile thinking
of you and your
hum.
I miss you and
know you showed me
Puposky.
And now
I am ok.
