Floated Away

I jumped out

the window

and ran 

through 

the grass

with no shoes 

on.

It was dusk.

My heart 

was beating

fast as I took

off to 

meet you.

I remembered

your eyes

and your

smile.

We 

met at the 

stop sign 

under the 

street light.

No words

were

spoken

just a smile.

You held 

out your hand

and I took

it.

We both 

started to 

run 

and when we 

took a right 

on Pelican Place

the silence of 

the night 

wrapped us

up and 

we 

floated away.
