About Time That I Did
The water
flows
beside
the leafless
trees.
I no longer
need
protection.
I no
longer
need
to hide.
So
the bare
branches
don't
scare
me
as they
creak
in
the wind.
They sing
to me.
This
part
right
here is
the part I
missed
years ago.
But today
I hear it.
You will
be safe,
travels in
my ears.
Words I have
never
heard
or witnessed.
The song continues
with the
words,
Lead softly
and
leave your
armor
on the ground.
I take my
jacket off
and gently
leave it
on the ground.
Its all I
can do
to let this go.
I feel the chill
and that's
ok.
I haven't
felt anything
for years.
But its
about time
I did.
